Whether you are self-employed or a regular employee, your level of productivity will determine how far you’ll go. It is easier to be productive when you like what to do, but no matter how much you love your work, an extra boost is welcomed anytime.
Everyone wants to get more and more done and to feel accomplished at the end.

Here are five of the best tips to boost your productivity at work:

PLAN YOUR DAYS

If you spend at least 15 minutes before you go to bed to create your to-do list and prioritizing it, you will have a head start on your day in the morning. Pick the most important tasks and put a personalized sign next to them to remind you that these are the tasks that need to be done to push you forward with achieving your big goals.

MINIMIZE ALL THE DISTRACTIONS

If you work from a computer, as most do, there is always a temptation to check your social media pages or surf the Internet, among many other distractions who are everywhere. When it’s time to work, work!

TAKE REGULAR BREAKS

Taking scheduled breaks can actually help you improve your concentration. Researchers have shown that taking short breaks during long tasks helps you by maintaining a constant level of performance; while working at a task without breaks leads to a decline in performance. Take a short walk for a drink of water, or take a longer coffee break to stretch your legs. And when you get back to your task, you will be with fresh eyes and a focused attention.

PRODUCTIVITY MEANS TO STOP MULTITASKING

You might think you can get more work done if you multitask, but you are likely to do one or all of them poorly. Since the human brain is not equipped to focus on more than one task at a time when you force yourself to work on two or more tasks in the same time, you simply switch from one to another, and this can lead to mistakes and failures.
Quit multitasking and concentrate on doing just one task at a time!

SET DEADLINES FOR YOURSELF

While we think of stress as a bad thing, when we manage it and self-impose it, can actually help us to focus. Your productivity depends on how well you use your time, so be careful how you manage it. A deadline will also keep you motivated to work faster and let distractions aside. Set a deadline to make sure you can accomplish all the tasks you need within the time you have.

Productivity is about doing things right from the first time, not just doing things no matter what.
