STRATEGIES FOR STAYING MOTIVATED
“Your mind is a beautiful thing. When you fill it with beautiful thoughts, your life will start to change.” –Unknown
How to stay motivated? When it comes to motivation, we may feel that we are ready to take on the world at times. And other times, we may not feel motivated because we don’t motivate ourselves. We sometimes get at a moment where we tell ourselves that we cannot do it, that we will fail and everybody will laugh at us.
Do things that will keep you motivated and make this thing a priority in your life. You must motivate yourself in every day and find things in your life that will allow you to get to the spot that you want to be in.
Strategies that will keep you motivated
1) Getting enough sleep
Sleep is very important for you body, your mind, and your cognitive abilities. When you get enough sleep your mood changes, your brain and body changes. Since sleep is the number one thing that will help you maintain a longer focus, make sure that you get enough of it.
2) Cut out distractions and stay motivated
Staying motivated involves your ability to limit distractions. The Internet, cell phones, games, television etc count as distractions. When and if you are serious about your goals, you have to be serious about just how you use the time that you do have. This includes shutting down your phone, the Internet and anything else that can interrupt you from focusing.
3) Set goals with milestones
Setting goals the right way that also includes milestones is a major source of motivation. Milestones offer up short-term markers on our way to achieving our goals.
4) Visualize your future
Try and spend some time by visualizing your future and write out a detailed description of how life will be like when you achieve your long-term goals.
5) Manage your time
Stay motivated by organizing your time and limiting the time-wasters. No one wants to work all the time, but when you can effectively manage your time, you’ll find yourself making way more progress.
6) Create yourself a weekly plan
Make an action plan to help you boost your motivation levels. When you create a plan for your goals, you make them seem much more real. No matter how small the actions from your weekly plan might be, as long as they get you just a little bit closer to your goals, they should be included.
You should also track your progress. That way, when you look back, it can help to motivate you on just how far you have come and is a very good way to build some perspective and to constantly enhance your motivation.
7) Make a TO-DO list
Create a list of action items that you can do today that will help you move towards your goals. Getting in the habit of creating to-do lists can be an effective way to stay motivated towards achieving your goals.
